USA B1/B2 Visa — Key Facts

How It Works

The Application, Step by Step

1

Send us your documents

Complete the checklist below. We review everything before booking anything.

2

We book your appointment

Our visa desk arranges your biometrics and interview slot at the US Embassy once your file is ready.

3

Attend in person

Biometrics and the interview are mandatory and cannot be completed by anyone on your behalf.

4

Processing

Standard processing is 20 working days from your interview date.

5

Passport returned

Collected once the visa has been issued and returned by the embassy.

Start early. Apply at least 3 months before your travel date. The 20 working day processing time is only part of the timeline — interview appointment availability at the embassy can add considerably more.
Document Checklist

What You Need to Submit

A short list compared to most visas — the embassy relies heavily on the interview itself.

Mandatory

Required documents

  • Passport ID pageClear copy of the biodata page.
  • Singapore IC, front and backValid for 6 months or more.
  • Passport-size photoWhite background.
Optional, but recommended

Supporting documents

  • Photocopy of immigration stamps and visasA strong travel history can support your application at interview.
  • Previous US visaIf you hold or have held one.
The interview matters most. The document list is short because the consular officer's assessment at interview carries significant weight — be ready to speak clearly to your travel purpose, finances and ties to Singapore.

FAQ

Common Questions

What our visa desk gets asked most about USA applications.

How much does a USA visa cost?

SGD 500 all inclusive per applicant, covering document review and interview appointment assistance for the B1/B2 Tourist and Business visa.

How long does it take?

Processing is 20 working days. Apply at least 3 months before travel — interview appointment availability can extend the overall timeline well beyond the processing time itself.

Do I need to attend an interview myself?

Yes. Physical appearance is mandatory for biometrics and the visa interview at the US Embassy. This is the one part of the process we cannot do on your behalf — we prepare your documents and book the appointment, but you attend in person.

Who can use this service?

Singapore Permanent Residents and Singapore pass holders, including Employment Pass, S Pass and Work Permit holders, applying for the B1/B2 Tourist and Business visa.

How long is the visa valid, and how long can I stay?

The visa itself can be valid for up to 10 years and single or multiple entry, both at the embassy's discretion. That's separate from your length of stay on each visit, which is decided by the immigration officer at the port of entry, up to 180 days. A long visa validity doesn't guarantee a long stay on any one trip.

Why do USA visas get rejected?

Most commonly: an incomplete application, incorrect or inaccurate information, insufficient financial support, or not enough evidence of strong ties to Singapore or your home country. We review your documents before your interview to reduce these risks, but the final decision is the consular officer's alone.
