Japan now offers an eVisa alongside the standard physical visa. Both are submitted through Victory Travel — you don't need to visit the consulate yourself.
Fees are set by nationality, not by which visa type you apply for. All inclusive, per applicant.

You can apply as early as 3 months before departure. Applications submitted through a travel agent must be lodged at least 31 days before travel, and the travel date cannot be changed once the application is submitted.
